Become a Volunteer
CAHEP’s arts education programming thrives thanks to the generosity and support of our volunteers. Not only do you help enrich our multidisciplinary arts education programming for artists, children, youth and families, but you will gain valuable arts education and community experience.
Opportunities to get involved include:
- Classroom mentorship – Working one-on-one with a local artist in a classroom setting
- Community volunteer – Supporting artists delivering arts education programming in community-based settings and social service organizations.
- Event volunteering – Helping with large and smaller scale arts events including CAHEP’s Arts Fiesta
We welcome volunteers of all ages and experience levels to contact us to find out how to get involved.
High school volunteers are welcome!
Volunteers who are working directly with children and youth in our programming are required to have an up-to-date police record check with vulnerable sector screening.
Offered in partnership with Lakehead University, we offer an arts education internship for both Education and fourth year Fine Arts majors. Interns working with CAHEP will have the opportunity to gain hands-on skills working with a variety of arts educators, learning how to work with diverse groups of children and youth in both school classrooms and within community organizations. They also have the opportunity to work with us in the CAHEP office and assist us with a variety of community events/projects.
